Nicole Scherzinger to perform in SA
US singer/actress and TV personality Nicole Scherzinger will be performing at the ANN7 South African of The Year Awards.
The event, announced by the TV channel, will be taking place on September 6, and the star is expected to sing her hits to a live audience. She will be performing live along with the top South African artists which includes LIRA, Mafikizolo, Zahara, MiCASA and Junior Mambazo in front of the elite guest list of “who’s who of the country”.
Scherzinger is the former lead singer of the very popular group The Pussycat Dolls, which released acclaimed albums like PCD (2005) and Doll Domination (20 08); the former spawned the worldwide hits Don’t Cha, Stickwitu and Buttons as the latter also produced hits such as When I Grow Up and Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny). Scherzinger also won season ten of Dancing with the Stars (2010), released her long delayed debu solo album, Killer Love (2011) and returned to acting with a role in Men in Black 3 (2012).
Throughout a career spanning 13 years, she has sold 16 million records as a solo artist, and a further 50 million with Pussycat Dolls making the group one of the best selling girl groups of all time. This month she released her solo album On the rocks, which is already making news worldwide.
The inaugural ANN7 South African of the Year 2014 Awards will be a celebration of extraordinary South Africans. The channel announced that it will be an extravaganza with a star studded line up.
