Nicki Minaj: Married Life is Refreshing
Nicki Minaj and husband, Kenneth Petty, are enjoying being married and could not be any happier.
The 37-year-old rapper was chatting with fellow rapper, Lil Wayne, on his Apple Music series, “Young Money Radio with Lil Wayne”.
Whilst discussing her marriage to the 42-year-old record producer, Minaj was asked by Wayne how married life was treating her.
She said: “I can’t complain. I really cannot freaking complain. I didn’t think it would be as refreshing and calming as it is.”
The “Starship” hitmaker added: “Even if you’re not married, when you have someone that feels like your soulmate or someone who understands you, it just makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.”
The Trinidadian native also recounted how she started out as a rapper, and how difficult it was breaking out into the scene as a female artist.
She said: “I think people don’t realise the work that goes into it. Because if you’re not going to work, why bother?”
She then touched on projects outside of being a musician: “I love music and interacting with fans, so I can’t really see taking myself completely away.”
