Nicki Minaj Clarifies her “Retirement”
In September, Nicki Minaj announced that she would be retiring from music, via Twitter, “to focus on her family.”
However, Minaj released new music later that same month, leaving many confused. In a new interview, the rapper has now clarified her stance on her “retirement”.
She said: “I love music and interacting with fans, so I can’t really see taking myself completely away. But I want to be open to other possibilities in my life.”
Minaj added that she wants to make sure she is “well-rounded as a human being”, as well as focusing on expanding her business empire, which includes a partnership with Fashion house Fendi and a liquor company.
She also announced in October that she was happily married to Kenneth Petty, who she has known since childhood.
Minaj was recently honoured with the “Game Changer Award” at the 2019 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
