Neymar Sr Shuts Down Barca Transfer Rumours
Neymar Santos Sr, the father and manager of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star, Neymar Santos Jnr, insists that his son will not be transferring to Barcelona FC.
According to reports, Neymar – who joined PSG from Barca in 2017 for a world-record fee of €222 million – wants to leave the French top-flight club and rejoin his former club back in Spain.
It is also rumoured that the two clubs are currently negotiating the 27-year-old Brazilian’s potential transfer. Les Parisiens are apparently willing to sell the star for anything between a measly €130 million and €150 million.
Media outlets even claimed that Neymar Sr would be meeting Camp Nou official, Andre Cury, in Barcelona on Tuesday, 2 July, to discuss reaching a transfer deal for his son.
However, Neymar Sr squashed the reports, saying: “I’m not going to Barcelona to negotiate. I am in Brazil, and I will stay here until we return to Paris with my son.”
Time will tell if his son will return to Paris sooner than later, if not at all.
