New ‘Wonder Woman’ director found
Michelle MacLaren recently departed as director of the Wonder Woman film due to "creative differences" with Warner Bros.
Now in a strange turn of events, Warner Bros. has found a replacement for MacLaren – a woman who was also set to direct a superhero film but, like MacLaren, left the project due to creative differences.
Yes, the new Wonder Woman director is none other than Patty Jenkins, who was initially set to direct Thor 2 for Marvel.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed the news of Jenkins’ hiring reporting that the filmmaker "has closed a deal" with the studio to direct the film.
Jenkins directed the critically acclaimed hit Monster which earned a Best Actress Oscar for Charlize Theron.
Wonder Woman is set for release in June 2017 and will star Gal Gadot as the superheroine.
