New Han Solo Movie Gets a Title
The prequel to Han Solo’s adventures with the rebellion, and set in the Star Wars cinematic universe, has finally got a title: “Solo: A Star Wars Story”.
Ron Howard, the film’s director, announced the name on Tuesday in a video he shared on Twitter, celebrating the end of production.
The film will follow the model set by “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. These films take place in Star Wars fictional history, but are not focussed on the Skywalker family nor the central storylines from the main films.
“Solo” will follow the adventures of Han and Chewbacca before they join the rebellion. The movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as the beloved title character, originally made famous by Harrison Ford. It also stars Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke.
The film has had a number of production difficulties, most notably the departure of directing duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller halfway through shooting.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is due to be released in May 2018.
