Music Legend Prince Dies at Age 57

Music legend and pop icon, Prince, has died at the age of 57 at his home in Minneapolis in the US.

It is not yet clear as to what the cause of the musician’s death was. A representative for the late muso only said that he had died at his home:

“…It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” he said.

He continued saying that there no details surrounding the cause of death as of yet:

“…There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time,” the rep said.

Thousands of people around the world has since expressed their sorrow in the news of Prince’s death.

Many celebrities also took to social media to share their thoughts and condolences about the ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker.

Music television channel, MTV, also released a statement expressing their sadness over the pop star’s death:

“…MTV is heartbroken and in utter disbelief at the news that the world has lost Prince Rogers Nelson so suddenly and so before his time…Prince was a once-in-a-lifetime artist who transcended every medium and genre he touched and created music with a passion and individuality that inspired multiple generations. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, friends and millions of fans,” the statement read.
