President Robert Mugabe’s son, Robert Jr., has been selected to represent the country’s national basketball team in Tunisia.

The Afro Basketball Tournament takes place in Tunisia later this month and Robert Jr. will join the Men’s Senior team.

The 22-year old, who is currently studying in Dubai, also represented the country’s under 18 national basketball team previously.

National team general manager Shinga Magede said that Robert Jr.  is a great addition to the team and that he has been working hard alongside the team at a camp over the past two months:

“He has been working hard like all the other players so that he can have a fair assessment…[sic] “He is disciplined, has international experience and his inclusion in the national team is purely based on merit” he said.
