Mourinho Happy With Schweinsteiger Recall

November 03, 2016

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has said that he is very pleased that German international, Bastian Schweinsteiger, is back and training with the first team again.

For the past few weeks, Schweinsteiger had to train with Manchester United’s u/21 and u/23 teams.

He was also not part of Manchester United’s Europa League squad.

However, Mourinho seems to be pleased with his decision to bring the midfielder back to the squad to train with the first team.

Mourinho told a press conference that he is officially back in training with the first team:

“…Schweinsteiger is back…[sic] to do the tactical sessions I want to do you need a certain number of players, but the group shrinks when people are injured or recovering, many times we go to the Academy to bring young boys to have a group of the perfect numbers to train,” he said.

He continued, saying that Schweinsteiger will provide Man United with more option in midfield:

“…Looking at Bastian and the way he was working professionally with the fitness coach, we think that it is a human and professional decision to bring him back to the team, and he will be much better prepared in case his future decision is to leave the club…If he stays with us he becomes one more option. In this moment we have no problems in midfield like we do in defence, but if we do he is one more option,” he said.
