Moby Says Sorry to Natalie Portman over Dating Lies

Moby has apologised to actress Natalie Portman, after she slammed his claims that he dated her almost 20 years ago.

In a recently released excerpt from the musician’s memoir, “Then It Fell Apart”, Moby claimed that he briefly dated Portman in 2001. He said that he was 37 at the time, while the “Black Swan” actress was 20.

However, Portman rubbished Moby’s claims in a recent interview: “[Moby] said I was 20; I definitely wasn’t … I had just turned 18 … There was no fact-checking from him or his publisher.”

She added: “We only hung out a handful of times before I realised that this was an older man who was interested in me in a way that felt inappropriate.”

At first, Moby doubled down on his claims; however, in a response to backlash from fans, he took to Instagram on Saturday, 25 May, to apologise to Portman.

He wrote: “I have a lot of admiration for [Portman], for her intelligence, creativity, and animal rights activism, and I hate that I might have caused her and her family distress.”
