Mesut Ozil’s Agent Denies Exit Claims

August 28, 2019

The agent of Arsenal star, Mesut Ozil, insists that his client will not be leaving the London outfit this summer, amid reports that he is ready to move on to another club.

The 30-year-old German midfielder has yet to make an appearance for the Gunners this season. This includes not being chosen by Unai Emery for the club’s clash against Liverpool on Saturday, 24 August, in which they lost 3-1.

As a result of this apparent snub, Ozil – who still has two years left on his hefty £350 000-per-week contract – has been linked with a move away from the club.

Ozil’s agent, Dr Ergut Sogut, was reported to have been in talks with American outfit, DC United, over a potential transfer.

However, according to online soccer site, Turkish Football, Sogut said that Ozil will remain with the Gunners instead, and will seemingly fight for his place in their starting line-up.

Time will tell if Ozil’s efforts will be rewarded or if a move is indeed on the horizon.
