Mel B Storms off America’s Got Talent Stage
Things went a little haywire during a live broadcast of America’s Got Talent (AGT) on Tuesday evening, after tension flared between judges, Mel B and Simon Cowell.
During his critique on the performance of escape artist, Demian Aditya, Simon decided to draw comparisons to Mel B’s marriage.
“I kind of think it will be like Mel B’s wedding night. A lot of anticipation, not much promise,” he said.
The former Spice Girl, almost without hesitation, threw her drink in Simon’s face before storming off the judges’ podium.
AGT host, Tyra Banks, tried to defuse the situation in front of the live audience saying: “Mel B is out. This is live TV, y’all. Live TV”.
However, the audience and fellow judges were visibly concerned.
To add insult to injury, when Mel B stormed off, the back of her dress tore, leaving a strip of fabric hanging from her garment.
Mel B did return to her judging duties for the next act, though her demeanor towards Simon was less than warm.
The 42-year-old songstress is currently going through a divorce from Stephen Belafonte after 10 years of marriage.
There have been reports that Belafonte had been mentally and physically abusive towards Mel B during their marriage, and that he had cheated on her multiple times.
