Megan Thee Stallion’s Record Label Stalling New Music

March 02, 2020

Megan Thee Stallion has claimed that her record label is preventing her from releasing new music.

The 25-year-old rapper – who has been signed with independent label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, since 2018 – revealed during an Instagram Live session on Sunday, 1 March, that the label was delaying the release of her debut album, “Suga.”

She explained: “Soon as I said, ‘I want to renegotiate my contract,’ everything went left. It just all went bad. It all went left. So now they’re [telling me] that [I] can’t drop no music [sic].”

Megan admitted that she did not quite understand the terms and conditions of her initial contract. Nevertheless, she advised new artists to learn from her mistakes.

She said: “Don’t sign that without no lawyer [sic]… and get your own lawyer, with their own opinion.”

The “Hot Girl Summer” also seemingly directed strong words at her record label: “I work for everything that I do … and to try and stop me from working is really crazy! All I want to do is make music. All I want to do is put out music.”
