Megadeth Frontman Dave Mustaine Gives Cancer Update
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine recently gave an update regarding his cancer, saying that his recovery is going well and he is optimistic.
The 58-year-old guitarist and singer announced via Instagram on 17 June that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer.
Megadeth cancelled the majority of their tour dates after Mustaine’s announcement, but the inaugural “Megacruise” – a return-trip holiday cruise featuring the band – will still sail on 13 October, departing from Los Angeles on a voyage to San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico.
He wrote on the band’s website: “I’m almost through the last round of treatment and my doctors are feeling very positive regarding my progress.”
The hard rocker added: “I want to thank all of you for the support and well wishes these last few months. I can’t express enough gratitude as it has made this hard road easier knowing you are in my corner fighting with me!”
Megadeth are planning to release a new album in 2020.
