Matthew Perry Overdose: Dealer to Plead Guilty
The final defendant charged in connection with Matthew Perry’s fatal overdose has agreed to change her plea to guilty, bringing the high-profile case to a close.
Jasveen Sangha – a 42-year-old dual British-American national dubbed the “Ketamine Queen” – admitted that she had supplied the narcotic that caused the “Friends” star’s death in October 2023. She has agreed to plead guilty to five federal counts, including maintaining a drug-involved premises and distributing ketamine resulting in death.
Sangha faces a possible 45 years in prison. Her decision means all five people accused of fuelling Perry’s addiction – including two doctors, his assistant and a friend – have now accepted plea deals. Among them is Dr Salvador Plasencia, identified by prosecutors as a key figure alongside Sangha.
Court documents reveal the 54-year-old actor had been prescribed the substance to manage depression but sought further supplies illegally, taking a dosage as many as eight times a day in the weeks leading up to his death.
Sangha’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, told an international publication that his client is “taking responsibility for her actions”. Sentencing dates for the accused are expected to be confirmed in the coming months.
