Matic to Join Man United
Reports suggest that Manchester United are close to finalising a deal with Chelsea midfielder, Nemanja Matic, over a transfer to Old Trafford.
The deal will see Matic, who has been with Chelsea for three years, reunite with Jose Mourinho. It was Mourinho who first signed Matic to Chelsea in 2014 when he was still in charge of The Blues.
The Serbian international must have left quite an impression on Mourinho, who is reportedly offering Chelsea £40 million for his services.
According to several English newspapers, the transfer deal should be completed before this week. This would allow Matic to join United on their pre-season tour of the US, which kicks off on 9 July.
Matic has been described by football critics as an exceptionally talented defensive midfielder, and has been applauded for his technique.
It is said that the 28-year-old will serve as a replacement for 36-year-old United stalwart, Michael Carrick, who is expected to retire within the next year.
