Matemera Appointed For Ghana WC Qualifier

October 28, 2015

Zimbabwean referee Norman Matemera has been appointed as the referee that will officiate Ghana’s 2018 World qualifying match against Comoros on November 13.

Matemera will be assisted by fellow Zimbabweans Tapfumanei Mutengwa and Salani Ncube in the assistant 1 and assistant 2 positions.

It was quite a controversial pick for FIFA to choose Matemera as the referee following his big issue with last November’s Chibuku Super Cup final between FC Platinum and Harare City at Mandava Stadium which ended 1-1 after extra time and the Zvishavane side triumphed in the penalty shootout.

Another controversial referee, Ruzive Ruzive, will be the reserve referee whiles Yigzaw Ambaw Bezuayehu from Ethiopia will be the referee assessor.
