Massimiliano Allegri: No Move to Arsenal in The Works

March 07, 2017

Massimiliano Allegri, manager of Italian football club Juventus, has profusely denied that he has been in talks with English Premier League club, Arsenal, about possibly becoming their new manager.

Rumours that long-time Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, might be replaced next season have been doing the rounds lately, and many have speculated that Allegri is the man for the job.

Wenger’s contract expires at the end of the current season.

Speaking to Sky Sports recently, Allegri vehemently denied reports that he has entered into a ‘verbal agreement’ with Arsenal’s top bosses.

“I repeat what I have already said before, it’s not true…The second thing, even if there was something in it, the first to know and learn my wish to leave would be Juventus [sic],” he said.

He continued, saying that his contract with the Italian club extends until 2018 and that if and when he decides to leave, Juventus players and club management will be the first to know.

“I’m contracted until 2018. I’m not the one to decide my future, Juventus will. It is they who decide because it’s the way I work and have worked previously…When time passes, as we did last year, we will evaluate what to do…And if these rumours were true, Juventus would be the first to know and I haven’t talked to Juventus yet [sic],” he said.
