Marvel Comics’ Stan Lee Dies Aged 95

Legendary comic book writer and publisher, Stan Lee, has passed away at the age of 95.

According to reports, an ambulance was called to Lee’s Hollywood Hills home in the early hours of yesterday morning. Kirk Schenck, an attorney for Lee’s daughter, Joan, said that the “X-Men” creator was declared dead at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Working with artists such as Jack Kirby, Lee co-created Marvel Comics’ most memorable superheroes including Spider-Man, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four among others.

He was also well-known for making cameo appearances in the film adaptations of his comic book creations.

In the last few years of his life, Lee suffered from various illnesses such as pneumonia, problems with his vision, and allegedly being subjected to elder abuse at the hands of his caregiver. His wife, Joan B. Lee, passed away from a stroke in July last year.

Lee is survived by his daughter, Joan. and his brother Larry Lieber, who also worked in comics.
