Marcus Rashford Trains Amidst Transfer Uncertainty

July 10, 2025

Marcus Rashford has reported back to Carrington for individual training, despite being one of five Manchester United players who had been granted extended leave to secure moves away from the club.

The 27-year-old forward, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa after falling out with United manager Ruben Amorim, completed solo fitness sessions earlier this week. He did not train with the main squad, who are preparing for a pre-season tour in the USA, which starts on 19 July with a friendly against Leeds in Stockholm, Sweden.

United’s arrangement gave Rashford – along with Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia – access to medical and rehab facilities while on leave.

The Red Devils have also stripped Rashford of the Number 10 shirt, handing it to new signee from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Matheus Cunha.

Despite rumoured links to Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Rashford remains under contract and is reportedly committed to giving “100 per cent” while still at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, his potential exit may aid United’s summer transfer business, as they close in on Brentford FC’s Bryan Mbeumo and seek to balance spending with outgoing sales.

To date, Rashford has made 426 appearances for United, scoring 138 goals and providing 77 assists.
