Mangwiro Impressed With Warriors’ Performance
Harare City coach Taurai Mangwiro, has said he is very impressed with the level of football the Zimbabwean national team, the Warriors, have shown as of late.
He also said that he has the confidence that the team will be able to perform really well at this year’s Chan tournament.
The Warriors are currently at a training camp for the tournament and will leave to Rwanda on Saturday, where they will face Zambia, Mali and Uganda in the group stages of the competition.
The Warriors had a practise match against Harare City yesterday, and Mangwiro said that he was very impressed with the national side’s performance:
“…I was very much impressed with the Warriors, especially in the first 70 minutes…The team that they fielded showed a lot in terms of organisation and cohesion so we can only hope for the best. I hope they will go there and represent us well. I think they will surprise their opponents,” he said.
The 2016 Chan tournament kicks off on Saturday this with hosts Rwanda taking on Cote d’Ivoire at Amahoro Stadium in the opening match of the tournament.
