Manchester United Target Pickford as De Gea’s Replacement
Manchester United are reportedly mounting a £60 million-bid to sign Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, as David de Gea’s replacement.
Per media reports, de Gea is stalling on signing a new deal with the Red Devils that has been on the table for months, due to a slump in form at the club in recent times under manager Jose Mourinho.
Additionally, it has been suggested that Juventus are showing interest in the 28-year-old Spaniard, with there being plans to sign him either in the summer or until he is a free agent.
While de Gea’s situation plays out, Manchester United has apparently set their sights on Pickford.
The 24-year-old has seen his stock soaring due to his impressive performance at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. His shot-stopping abilities and his prowess in stopping penalties has apparently made him Mourinho’s top choice to replace de Gea.
Despite signing a new contract with Everton in the summer, a deal with the Red Devils may be on the cards for Pickford.
