Manchester United Offer Massive Bid for Lukaku
Several British news sources have reported that English Premier League club, Manchester United, have agreed to a massive £75 million transfer fee for Everton star striker, Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku has been a prime target for Man United manager, Jose Mourinho, throughout the transfer window. However, it was thought by many that Everton’s price tag for the services of Lukaku was too high for Manchester United.
Before coming to an agreement with Everton, The Red Devils were in hot pursuit of Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata.
Their interest in Morata seems to have cooled now that they have reportedly reached an agreement with Everton.
Lukaku was a prime target for several major EPL clubs this season.
After his impressive performance last season, he reportedly received offers from Manchester City, Tottenham, and EPL champions, Chelsea.
Lukaku was the second highest goal scorer last season, with 25 goals.
Earlier in the year, he famously turned down a very lucrative offer from Everton manager, Ronald Koeman, to extend his contract with the club. He said that he wanted to play for a club with ‘more ambition’.
“I don’t want to stay at the same level. I want to improve and I know where I want to do that,” Lukaku said.
Lukaku is represented by Mino Raiola, who is also the agent for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan – all three of which were signed by Manchester United last season.
While there has been no official word of a transfer agreement by Lukaku or Manchester United, reports suggest that an official announcement is imminent.
