Man United Soul-Searches After Burnley Scorching
Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has mentioned that the club will see more transfers in the near future; especially after his team lost a heart-breaking 2-0 home game to Burnley on Wednesday night, 22 January.
The multiple-title winning side saw their second loss within three days – the first loss was to Liverpool on Sunday, 19 January – and has left the Red Devils in fifth place, six points behind Chelsea.
To rub salt in the wounds: Burnley had not won at Old Trafford since 1962.
In a post-match interview, the 46-year-old Norwegian said: “We are working to improve and get players in, and hopefully we can get something over the line. I think everybody can see these players are being stretched”.
He reassuringly added: “I’ve got absolutely no complaints on any of them because they give absolutely everything they’ve got.”
Solskjaer has three prime players out with long-term injuries: Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford. This has lit up fans’ hopes that United will be bringing in new talent during the January transfer window.
