Man United Looking to Replace Mourinho with Pochettino
Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur coach, Maurizio Pochettino, to replace Jose Mourinho.
According to reports, Pochettino is the only candidate that the Red Devils are currently considering for the job, in the wake of the club’s poor performances that have left them languishing in eighth place on the Premier League table.
The news comes a month after Pochettino rejected Real Madrid’s lucrative £15 million-a-year offer to permanently take over managerial duties. He cited “constant disruption behind the scenes” at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as the main reason for him not accepting the job.
Additionally, Pochettino – who has been in charge of the Spurs since 2014 – renewed his £8 million-a-season contract with the English club at the end of last season, and it is set to only expire in 2023.
However, Manchester United are said to have put forward a £40 million offer to the Argentine coach.
Time will tell if Pochettino will consider this offer, especially while the Spurs rank third on the Premier League table.
