Man City Star Joins Saudi Club
Tijjani Reijnders is taking his football boots to another country by joining the Saudi Pro League (SPL).
The 28-year-old Dutch midfielder, who joined Manchester City from AC Milan last year, has reportedly signed a four-season contract with SPL outfit, Al-Qadsiah.
For the duration of this contract, Reijnders is set to earn a whopping £52 million – a welcome bump above the £46.5-million fee that City coughed up when they purchased him from AC Milan.
During his one-season stint with the Citizens, the Dutchman scored seven goals in 47 appearances across all competitions. He was also part of the Netherlands squad that competed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he made three appearances.
The SPL’s 2026/27 season kicked off on Thursday, 13 August, and is scheduled to conclude on 29 May 2027. As such, it’s not unreasonable for fans to expect to see Reijnders take the pitch in the coming weeks.
