Man City Look Wary as Saturday Approaches

March 08, 2019

Manchester City are set to clash with Watford this Saturday, 9 March, at City of Manchester Stadium, but a few niggles still worry management.

Team manager, Pep Guardiola, is happy to see his team at the top of the English Premier League (EPL) table with 71 points, but several setbacks have affected his team’s chances for the title.

City are in a precarious state as the number of players with injuries rises. Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and defender John Stones will both miss the match against Watford; they both suffered hamstring injuries during last week’s 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Other injured players include Brazilian midfielder, Fernandinho, and French left back, Benjamin Mendy.

Man City’s goal-scoring has been erratic in recent times, as they scored only two goals in their last three matches, including a League Cup final appearance against Chelsea, whom they soundly trampled 6-0 two weeks prior.

City have only one last EPL game after Saturday’s match, which will be against relegation-threatened Fulham on 30 March.
