Man City Historic Treble Win in Sight

June 09, 2023

Manchester City have just one final match between them and a coveted treble victory this season.

The Citizens will be taking on Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League Final at Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Türkiye on Saturday, 10 June.

If the English team wins, they will have claimed the top spot in the Football Association Challenge Cup, English Premier League and the aforementioned European Championship – qualifying the team for the crowning “treble” title.

City manager, Pep Guardiola, could also become the first person in history to achieve the feat twice. In the 2008/09 season, he led his former team, Barcelona, to the continental treble of La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.

Pundits have been strongly favouring the English team with their predictions, as many expect the warriors to leave their Italian foes in the dust. As a result, Man City have been named as Europe’s most valuable football club by the Football Benchmark, ousting Real Madrid, in a report published on Thursday, 8 June.

However, despite the strong vote of confidence, Guardiola’s push for perfection has been called “relentless” by those who have worked with him, and some believe that his tendency to overthink may be his downfall.

Only time will tell!
