Man City Grab AC Milan Star in €75-Million Deal
Manchester City are on the verge of signing Dutch footballer, Tijjani Reijnders, with a deal reportedly worth €75 million including bonuses, nearing completion.
According to multiple sources, personal terms with the 26-year-old AC Milan midfielder have already been agreed, with only formalities remaining between the clubs.
Reijnders, who joined Milan from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 for €20.5 million, quickly became one of Serie A’s top performers. He was recently named the league’s best midfielder for the 2024/25 season after scoring a career-high of 15 goals across all competitions.
His arrival comes as City aim to fill the creative void left by Kevin De Bruyne and bolster a midfield that is still adapting to Ilkay Gundogan’s return. Manager Pep Guardiola is said to have accelerated negotiations, eager to integrate Reijnders ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
Tactically versatile and known for his intelligent movement and high work output, Reijnders fits the profile that Guardiola seeks. The Citizens are expected to continue reshaping their squad following a rare trophyless season.
After two seasons – with 104 appearances, 19 goals and 9 assists – the talented Dutch international departs the Rossoneri with his head held high.
