Man City Agree on Record Deal for Kyle Walker
Manchester City have reportedly agreed to a record-breaking £50 million fee for Tottenham Hotspur defender, Kyle Walker.
According to several sources, Man City have agreed to pay the English international £45 million upfront, with a further £5 million on the table in performance-related bonuses.
The deal is the highest ever paid for a defender in football history.
According to Sky Sports, Walker is set to undergo a medical at Manchester City on Friday. Should he pass his medical, it is expected that an official announcement will be made over the weekend.
Walker joined Tottenham in 2009, and has since made 228 appearances for the club. He was an integral part of Tottenham’s Premier League campaign last season, and helped the Spurs reach second place on the log for the second year in a row.
He was also named in the PFA Team of the Year as right-back for the second consecutive year.
The 27-year-old has also been a stalwart in the English national team.
He made his debut for England in 2011, and has since been capped 27 times for his country.
