Mamelodi Sundowns Win CAF Champions League
South African Premier League team, the Mamelodi Sundowns, are this year’s champions in the CAF Champions League.
The Sundowns managed to beat out Egyptian club, Zamalek, beating them 3 – 1 on aggregate.
The Sundowns have now become one of only two South African teams that have won a CAF Champions league, after Orlando Pirates won the title in 1995 and were runners-up in 2013.
The win also means that Mamelodi Sundowns will now represent Africa at the Club World Cup in December.
World football governing body, FIFA, has also taken the opportunity to congratulate Mamelodi Sundowns on their great achievement.
Besides FIFA, hundreds of fans, celebrities and fellow soccer stars have congratulated the Sundowns on their amazing performance.
The Club World Cup will take place in Japan in December.
