Luke Shaw Ready to Prove Himself at United
Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw, has said that he feels the upcoming 2017/2018 football season will be his chance to prove his worth to the club.
Shaw has been plagued by injuries ever since joining United in 2014, after suffering a double leg fracture at the start of the 2015/2016 season.
After this injury, Shaw was ruled out for six months, during which he worked with physiotherapists.
Although Shaw recovered, and was included in a few first team lineups for United, he then suffered a foot injury during a game against Swansea City on 30 April.
Just ahead of the 2017/2018 season, the 22-year-old feels that he is strong enough to make a solid impression on the United team and manager, Jose Mourinho.
“I have been doing rehab each day and it is coming along really good [sic],” he said.
He said he is working hard to attain peak fitness and that he will be in top form ‘soon’.
“I miss it [playing] and I want to be back out there as soon as possible and stay out on the pitch [sic],” he told Manchester United’s official website.
He continued, saying that he has faith in achieving his goals this season:
“I feel this is my season to prove myself and I am feeling in good shape. In myself I feel confident…I want to show everyone that I believe in myself and show the manager that he can believe in me.”
