July 10, 2017

Belgian international, Romelu Lukaku, has bid farewell to former club, Everton, as he prepares to move to Manchester United.

Lukaku posted an emotional and heartfelt message on his official Instagram account, thanking his fellow players, Everton management, and his fans.

“I want to say a big thank you to all the people involved at Everton. I want to thank the fans for your support throughout the four years we’ve spent together…You guys helped me through all my games and I can proudly say it was an honour to play in front of you,” he said.

He continued, thanking everyone who had a part in shaping him into the footballer he is today.

Lukaku was the second highest goalscorer last season in the English Premier League.

“To the staff at the stadium and training ground, thank you for making me feel home from the first day I walked in…To my team-mates it was great to play with you guys. To technical staff, thank you for helping me become a better player. Working with you guys has been a pleasure and I’ll take your advice throughout the rest of my career. Thank you Everton football club [sic],” he concluded.

While neither Lukaku nor Manchester United has officially confirmed his move to Old Trafford, it has been widely reported that the 24-year-old will join The Red Devils this week.

Reports over the weekend said that Lukaku had completed a medical in Los Angeles on Sunday, where the United squad is for pre-season training.

Man United reportedly paid a massive fee of up to £90 million for Lukaku.
