Liverpool Teen Sensation “Truly Sorry” about Kane Video
Liverpool winger, Harvey Elliott, has issued a public apology after a video of him mocking Tottenham Hotspur star, Harry Kane, recently emerged on social media.
In the video, which was originally recorded on Snapchat, 16-year-old Elliott – who signed with Liverpool this month – is seen performing an offensive impersonation of Kane whilst using derogatory language.
The video was reportedly taken during the 2019 UEFA Champions League final between the Reds and the Spurs in June.
Taking to Instagram Story on Thursday, 1 August, Elliott owned up to his actions.
He wrote: “The video was taken whilst messing around with friends in a private environment and was not directed at any individual, but I realise that my actions were both immature and senseless.”
Expressing his remorse, Elliott added: “I would like to stress that the contents of the video do not represent who I am as a person or how I’ve been brought up, and I am truly sorry.”
