Liverpool Report Mo Salah to Police
Liverpool have reported Mohamed Salah to the police after a video of the Egyptian forward using a cell phone while driving his car went viral on social media.
The video shows Salah texting using both hands while his car was stuck in traffic, surrounded by fans, including children, before he drove off.
A Liverpool spokesperson said: “The club, after discussion with the player, have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and the circumstances surrounding its capture.”
The Merseyside police have confirmed they are aware of the video and that it has been sent to the “relevant department” for investigation.
In England, it’s unlawful to use a cell phone whilst driving, even when the car is stationary in traffic. The punishment for such an offence in the UK can include up to six points on the drivers’ licence and a fine of £200.
The Liverpool spokesperson further said that the club will deal with the issue internally and no further comments will be made by both, the club and the player.
