Liverpool Bag Bradley Barcola for 140 Million Euros
Liverpool have agreed to a major €140-million deal with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to sign Bradley Barcola, bringing an end to one of the summer’s longest-running transfer sagas.
Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon headed the negotiations that produced a breakthrough overnight on Wednesday, 26 August, establishing an agreement for the 23-year-old winger. Barcola had made it clear he would not extend his contract with the European champions and was subsequently omitted from PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Rennes last weekend.
The French international emerged as the Reds’ primary target following Mohamed Salah’s departure to the Turkish Super Lig. Capable of playing on either flank, Barcola recorded 13 goals and seven assists in 49 appearances for PSG last season, alongside a standout campaign with France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With final details being ironed out, Barcola is set to travel to England to complete his medical and finalise terms. His arrival provides manager Andoni Iraola with a dynamic attacking threat, while potentially opening the door for Cody Gakpo’s exit amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
