Lira to support Jill Scott in concert
Airey Scott, Kaya FM and Mzansi Magic Music have announced the inclusion of Lira as the supporting artist to Jill Scott at her One Night Only concert in Johannesburg on Saturday December 13 at the Coca Cola Dome.
Elegant, soulful and ever radiant, Lira’s silky voice has won her ten SAMA Awards and nominated for BET International nominated.
The singer-songwriter has racked up an impressive series of achievements since launching her musical career a decade ago, blazing a trail of accomplishments that’s few artists in the history of the continent can lay claim to five studio albums with physical releases in five international territories including the US, over one million digital sales globally, three live DVD’s, an autobiography and over 900 000 online fans (the largest female musician social media network in Africa).
She has performed for Nelson Mandela, at Barack Obama’s second Inauguration, opened up the Kick-off concert in 2010 with Hugh Masekela and has toured extensively across the globe.
Johannesburg is about to experience the hip hop fused lyricist that is fondly known as Jilly from Philly, alongside South Africa’s favourite girl next door Lira.
Jill Scott remains a musical power house of epic proportions and this will be the second time she performs in South Africa.
