Lil Nas X Takes The (Old Town) Road Less Travelled
Say what you will about him, Lil Nas X knows how to work the music industry, and is grabbing the limelight with both hands as he released yet another remix version of his genre-defying popular hit “Old Town Road” at midnight on Thursday, 25 July.
The 20-year-old rapper from Georgia is set to break several records with his breakthrough single, and has now teamed up with RM of K-Pop group BTS to make a remix with the clever title “Seoul Town Road” – wordplay using the name of South Korea’s capital.
It is the 80th remix of his billboard-topping track, and amazingly its popularity has shown no signs of fading since its December 2018 debut. However, Lil Nas X claims it will be the last version.
Several artists have contributed their own versions of the country rap cowboy ode, such as Diplo, Cupcakke, Young Thug, Mason Ramsey and most notably, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Lil Nas X claimed that it would be the final remix of the track. In a post on Instagram, he said: “last one y’all i promise [sic]”.
