Lewis Capaldi Triumphantly Returns

July 08, 2025

After a two-year break to focus on his mental health, Lewis Capaldi has made an emotional return to the stage.

The 28-year-old Scottish singer-songwriter, who was diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome in 2022, has credited therapy as key to helping him reconnect with his music.

“Therapy has been such a massive part of my last two years,” he shared in a BetterHelp collaboration video via Instagram on Monday, 7 July. “[It is] a massive part of the reason I’ve been able to be a musician again,” he added.

His surprise appearance at Glastonbury last month marked his first performance since his 2023 set was cut short by his condition. “Second time’s a charm on this one,” he told fans, visibly moved.

Since then, Capaldi has released his comeback single “Survive”, announced a new EP due for release later this year, and revealed plans for a full album potentially in 2026. He’s also giving back, teaming up with BetterHelp to offer 734 000 hours of free therapy.

Fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland can catch him live again this September as he embarks on a nine-date arena tour, including two nights at London’s O2 venue.

“About time I got back to work… hope to see you out there,” he added.
