Leicester’s Ranieri Wins League Manager’s Award

May 17, 2016

Claudio Ranieri, manager of English Premier League champions Leicester City, has been awarded the League Manager’s Award as manager of the year.

The award is given to the best manager of the season by the League Manager’s Association.

The story of Leicester City winning the English Premier League will go down in history as one of the most unbelievable of all time.

With a 5000 – 1 chance of winning the title, Leicester City’s road to victory is nothing short of a fairytale, led by Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri was given the award the same day as Leicester’s celebration parade through the streets of their own city.

More than 250 000 screaming fans gathered in the city for the victory parade where the team and Ranieri sat atop an open top bus, driving through the streets of Leicester and celebrating their amazing victory.

It also a big win for Ranieri in another way, as he is now only the second manager of non-British or Irish descent that has won the award.

The only other non-British or Irish manager to have won the same award is Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, who won the award back in 2002 and 2004.
