Leicester City Win English Premier League

May 03, 2016

A dream that many had thought impossible has finally come true for the underdogs of the English Premier League, Leicester City.

In what was hailed as the biggest surprise in Premier League history, the Leicester Fixes claimed glory when they won the Premier League on Monday.

And while it was apparent for at least the last week or two that the title of champions would go to the underdogs from Leicester, it was confirmed on Monday when Leicester’s only remaining competitors, Tottenham Hotspur, drew 1 – 1 in their match against Chelsea.

Leicester did nothing short of a miracle, as the chances were pitted at 5000 to 1 for the Fixes to claim the Premier League title.

They barely clung on to the Premier League last season as they were at the bottom of the log, and the season before that, they weren’t even playing in the Premier League.

Once the final whistle blew in the Chelsea and Tottenham game, celebrations erupted all over England (and the world) as Leicester City was officially the champions of the Premier League.

Celebrations also erupted in Leicester itself as thousands of fans joined for a celebratory party at the home stadium of the Foxes.

Words of congratulations also poured in for Leicester City coach, Claudio Ranieri, who has never won a major league title in his life.

Ranieri was busy having dinner with his mother in Italy when the news broke that Leicester had won the Premier League.

Leicester finished at the top of the log with 77 points.

Congratulations to the underdogs that proved you should never give up on a dream.
