Leeds United Break EPL Record With Okafor Signing
Leeds United have completed the signing of Noah Okafor from AC Milan in a deal worth around £18 million.
The 25-year-old Swiss forward has inked a four-year contract, becoming the club’s ninth arrival of the mid-year transfer period as they prepare for life back in the English Premier League (EPL). His arrival takes total EPL spending to a record £2.37 billion this summer, surpassing the previous high set in 2023.
Okafor brings experience from across Europe, having won four Swiss Super League titles and three Austrian Cups with Red Bull Salzburg, before moving to Milan in 2023. He was later loaned to Napoli on loan, contributing to their Serie A title-winning campaign last year.
The versatile attacker – who can operate in the midfield or from wide areas – has also earned 24 caps for Switzerland and featured at the 2022 World Cup.
“As a kid, I dreamed of playing in the Premier League,” Okafor told an international publication on Thursday, 21 August. “That’s why for me it was quite an easy decision. My football [style] suits the Premier League, so this is like a dream come true,” he added.
