Lady Gaga Postpones Miami Show Due to Vocal Strain

September 04, 2025

Lady Gaga was forced to call off her “Mayhem Ball” concert on Wednesday, 3 September, just moments before she was due to appear on stage at the Kaseya Centre in Miami, Florida.

The 39-year-old singer revealed on Instagram shortly thereafter that her voice had become “extremely strained” during rehearsals and warm-ups, with both her doctor and vocal coach advising her to not go ahead with the gig

“Hi everyone, I am really so, so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami,” she told fans, adding that she did not want to risk “long-term or permanent damage” to her vocal cords.

The venue later confirmed the postponement, promising details of a new date and refunds shortly. Gaga assured fans that her team is working quickly to reschedule.

The cancellation comes amidst a headline-grabbing run of the “Mayhem Ball” tour. In New York last month, the “Abracadabra” hitmaker broke down in tears while recalling the encouragement she received from her fiance, Michael Polansky, before stepping on stage.

Despite the setback, the pop star is expected to continue the tour, with a scheduled performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City this Saturday, 6 September. She’s also expected to make an appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards the following night, with 12 nominations to her name.
