Kylie Jenner’s Company is Worth How Much?!
Kylie Jenner may be the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, but she is well on her way to becoming the richest.
During a recent interview with Women’s Wear Daily, her mom and manager, Kris Jenner, told the publication that her youngest daughter’s business has made some serious cash over the past few months.
Kris said that Kylie’s company, Kylie Cosmetics, made $420 million in retail sales over the last 18 months.
The company, which was officially launched in February of last year, is also expected to make $386 million in retail sales for 2017.
Kylie first started her foray into the world of cosmetics by launching her coveted ‘Lip Kits’ as stand-alone products in 2015. The Lip Kits proved to be so popular, that they sold out in less than a minute on Kylie’s website.
Kylie told Women’s Wear Daily that she did not expect her products to be so popular.
“[On] launch day, I refreshed the page about a minute after we launched and everything was sold out…I thought there was a glitch at first,” she said.
Kris, who also plays ‘momager’ to her other children as well, said that while the explosion of the business took everyone by surprise, she always knew that Kylie would be an excellent businesswoman.
According to Kris, “Kylie is hardworking, creative, focussed and she has the most amazing work ethic of anybody I’d ever met in my life and she really considers this her true passion, but an honour and a huge responsibility…And I see that and I think, ‘This is my little mogul. She’s amazing.’”
Kylie Cosmetics has since expanded their product line to include eye shadows, blush and, of course, various lipsticks and glosses.
With older sister, Kim Kardashian, recently launching her own beauty line, called KKW, one has to wonder if there will soon be some sibling rivalry in the makeup world.
In the meantime, Kylie Jenner is certainly one of the richest 20-year-olds on the planet.
