Kris Humphries Denies Marriage Was Fake
Eight years after his infamous split from ex-wife Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries claims that their relationship was not fake.
The former basketball player began dating the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star in 2010, and they were married a year later in a televised wedding.
However, after only 72 days of marriage, Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries, citing irreconcilable differences.
Their divorce was finalised in June 2013. Soon after, Kardashian married rapper Kanye West, with whom she shares three children, with a fourth on the way.
In an essay he penned for a media outlet, Humphries opened up about his failed marriage, which he denies was a publicity stunt.
He explained: “The one thing that really bothers me is whenever people say that my marriage was fake. There’s definitely a lot about that world that is not entirely real. But our actual relationship was 100% real.”
Regarding life post-divorce, Humphries added: “There was about a year where I was in a dark place … You feel like … the whole world hates you, but they don’t even know why. They don’t even know you at all.”
He ended off: “At the end of the day, I’m just a guy from Minnesota who loves the game of basketball. I never wanted to be that guy.”
