King Von: Alleged Shooter Arrested
A man suspected of killing 26-year-old rapper, King Von, has been arrested and charged with murder.
King Von – real name Dayvon Daquan Bennet – was shot dead in the parking lot of Monaco Hookah Lounge in Atlanta, Georgia early last Friday morning, 6 November.
According to police and witness reports, the incident occurred after two groups of men got into an argument. They dispersed after a man began firing a gun beside an SUV.
King Von passed away after he was taken to an area hospital, while two others were also killed.
Marla Jean Rooker, a spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department, told a media publication that the alleged shooter – who has been identified as Timothy Leeks – is currently in police custody at Grady Hospital with a gunshot wound.
In August, Leeks was charged by the Savannah Police Department for violating an anti-substance-related state law, after they found guns, more than 15 pounds of marijuana and nearly $16 000 in his possession.
The investigation into King Von’s death continues.
