Kim Kardashian West Ditches “Kimono” Clothing Line Name

Following allegations of cultural appropriation, Kim Kardashian West is set to change the name of her new shapewear line.

Last week, the reality star sparked public outcry after she revealed that the name of her shapewear line would be called Kimono Solutionwear, which she claimed was a play on her first name.

However, social media users heavily criticised her for naming the brand after the kimono, a type of traditional Japanese garment.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, 1 July, Kardashian West – who initially said that she would not change the name – changed her tune.

She said: “When I announced the name of my shapewear line, I did so with the best intentions in mind. My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core, and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name. I will be in touch soon.”

The new name of the shapewear line is likely be revealed some time soon.
