Kevin Hart Talks about Life after 2019 Car Crash
Kevin Hart has opened up his heart about the details of his recovery after he was involved in a car crash last year.
The 40-year-old comedian was a passenger in a car that went off the Mulholland Highway and rolled down an embankment in Los Angeles, California, late on 1 September 2019. No one in the car was wearing a seatbelt.
He suffered major injuries as a result of the accident, but has revealed new heart-breaking details about his subsequent recovery on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast on Monday, 26 May.
Talking to host Joe Rogan, Hart said: “I lied in the hospital because I didn’t want them to know that I was having pain because I thought they were gonna stop me from letting me continue to try my walks.”
The “Central Intelligence” actor admitted that he had to endure two-and-a-half weeks before he could walk unassisted.
He added that he had to rely heavily on his wife and children for even basic tasks, and expressed his gratitude for their love and support.
Hart mused that the accident changed his perception: “When you come close to that light and if you are fortunate enough to come back to that light, you value life differently.”
