Kerkez Joins Liverpool in £40m Move from Bournemouth

June 27, 2025

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in a deal worth £40 million, marking another major addition to their summer overhaul.

The 21-year-old arrives at Anfield after two impressive seasons with the Cherries, where he made 74 appearances, scoring twice and registering eight assists. A former AC Milan and AZ Alkmaar player, Kerkez has steadily risen through the ranks, also earning 23 caps for Hungary since his debut in 2022.

“I’m going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club,” he told his new club on Thursday, 26 June. “I can’t wait to hear the roar [at Anfield].”

The defender joins a busy summer of transfer activity for Liverpool, which has seen Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong also arrive from Bayer Leverkusen, with goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili set to follow from Valencia.

Kerkez will compete for the left-back position currently held by Andy Robertson, whose future at the club could be uncertain as he enters the final year of his contract.

His signing signals a generational shift in Liverpool’s back line as the Reds continue to build under new leadership and maintain momentum following their title-winning 2024/25 campaign.
