Kelly Clarkson Ends 7-Year Marriage
Singer Kelly Clarkson and her husband of seven years, Brandon Blackstock, have called it quits on their marriage.
The “Because Of You” hitmaker filed for divorce on Thursday, 4 June, at a court in Los Angeles, California, citing irreconcilable differences.
Clarkson also requested in the document to not pay spousal support to Blackstock, as well as to gain joint legal and physical custody of both their children – River, 5, and Remington, 4.
The 38-year-old songstress first met the 43-year-old talent manager in 2006, when the former was rehearsing for a performance with country band Rascal Flatts at an award ceremony. Blackstock was the band’s tour manager at the time.
It was only in 2011 that the couple started dating, and they married two years later in a small ceremony at Blackberry Farms in Tennessee.
Blackstock already has two children from a previous marriage – 18-year-old Savannah and 13-year-old Seth.
